As you put on your mask of cotton and plastic that obstructs the spread of disease,
may you rest in the assurance that nothing obstructs you from the God who knows you completely and loves you just as you are.
As your mask moves in and out with each warm breath,
may you know that God first breathed life into you and keeps you and sustains you.
As you listen to people’s words without being able to read their lips as they speak,
may you know that God hears your every word and thought and your deepest longings.
As you meet with people and focus on their eyes behind their masks,
may you know that God sees you and longs for you.
As you wash and dry your hands,
may you remember the cleansing that God has done for us in Christ.
As you consider keeping your distance from others,
may you remember that God always runs toward you, your trials, and your afflictions,
and there is no distance between you and God.
As you risk your health for the sake of helping others,
may you receive strength and inspiration from the divine healer.
Numbers 6:24-26
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”
