Should it become necessary to cancel an in-person Engaged Encounter weekend due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, CKRC will arrange to host a Zoom Engaged Encounter weekend for those who are registered. In those circumstances, materials will be sent to each couple prior to the Zoom session.
The following Retreat Center Protocols will be observed during weekends and gatherings.
Prior to your arrival:
1. If you are ill, you should plan on re-scheduling your Engaged Encounter weekend.
2. Be prepared to provide contact information for your emergency contact, personal physician, or any other person who you would want to notify if you were to get sick. Bring this information with you.
3. Masks/face coverings are required at CKRC. Have enough face coverings to last for your entire stay. A fresh face covering should be used each day.
4. If you travel with someone, please wear proper face coverings while you ride together in the vehicle, covering both the nose and mouth, unless you are members of the same household. This is a requirement by order of Texas Governor Greg Abbott as of July 3, 2020. Also, please allow some outside air to enter the vehicle periodically.
Upon your arrival:
1. Maintain social distancing while checking in to the Retreat Center and during your weekend.
2. Allow ample time to check in, as the protocols may cause slower registration times.
3. Update your contact information if needed, as contact tracing and notification may be required should someone become ill with COVID-19.
4. Face coverings should be worn in all indoor public spaces except when eating or drinking, and they should also be worn outdoors whenever social distancing cannot be observed.
During the weekend:
1. CKRC Staff will take guest temperatures each morning to check if you are running a fever. If your temperature is over 100°F you will be asked to isolate in your room for a 2nd temperature check. If your temperature does not return to normal, you will be asked to leave the weekend as soon as possible and return home. If you cannot leave immediately, you will need to isolate in your room.
2. Please wash your hands often.
3. Hand sanitizer stations are available. Please use them frequently.
4. Maintain social distancing during your weekend at Christ the King Retreat Center.
Celebration of weekend Masses:
1. Surfaces in the Retreat Center buildings are regularly sanitized.
2. Holy water, hymnals, and other shared items have been removed.
3. Prior to the start of Mass, hands should be washed and sanitized.
4. Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth during the Mass.
5. Maintain at least six feet of separation from others during the Mass.
6. The Sign of Peace should be done without embracing, touching, or shaking of hands.
In case of an emergency during the weekend, you may be reached at Christ the King Retreat Center: 325-651-5352 or 325-651-5358.
