West Texas Catholic Diocese collects, donates record $103,000 to victims of devastating Haiti earthquake

     SAN ANGELO -- Bishop Michael Pfeifer, OMI, announced Tuesday that the people of the Diocese of San Angelo have contributed more than $103,000 to assist the victims of the earthquake that struck the country of Haiti on January 12.

 

   “This gift represents the most generous response ever to a special appeal conducted in the diocese,” said Pfeifer. “I would encourage more to continue giving financially, as well as sending prayers for the hundreds of thousands who are without the basic necessities of life.”

 

   All donations received were given to Catholic Relief Services, already on location in Haiti.
