Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer will preside over a Mass celebrating the diocese's annual Marriage Jubilee Day, at 2 p.m., June 12, 2011, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in San Angelo.
   All couples who celebrating milestone anniversaries -- 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50 years and up -- will be recognized at the Marriage Jubilee. The Marriage Jubilee Mass is open to all.
   Anita and Jesse Jacques, parishioners at Sacred Heart in Abilene, will be in attendance and are celebrating their 68th anniversary this year.
   The following couples have been married 60 years and will also be honored at the Marriage Jubilee:
-- Tommie & John Atwood - Sacred Heart, Abilene
-- Rosetta & Stanley Cuba- St. Elizabeth, Odessa
-- Guadalupe & Gilberto Gonzales- St. Joseph, San Angelo
-- Trine & Robert Velasquez- St. Joseph, San Angelo
-- Darline & John Bridge - St. Margaret, San Angelo
   Families and friends are invited to accompany jubilarians to the celebration. Renewal of vows will take place within the Mass. This celebration will conclude with a reception in the Cathedral gymnasium. All are invited. For registration information, please contact your pastor. 
 
 
    “All anniversaries are to be cherished and celebrated, and each of the diocese’s jubilee Masses are significant as we praise God for the Sacrament of Marriage,” said Pfeifer. “This year’s marriage jubilee Mass takes on added significance as the diocese has made marriage and family life a priority in ministry in preparation for the diocese’s 50th anniversary in October.”
